General description
Lapacho is found in humid temperate and subtropical forests. The tree reaches up to 25 meters. The trunk is straight and cylindrical. Logs length to 8m, average diameter up to 50cm. Timber may have strong scent, grain varies from straight ti very irregular, medium to fine texture, rather ""oily"" looking. Heartwood olive brown, sometimes dark brown, often with lighter or darker striping. The sapwood is light and clearly separated.
